An upcoming Father and Son picnic at South Park
Elementary School causes Cartman to behave strangely. Stan, Kyle and
Kenny seek advice from Mr. Garrison, while Cartman sets out to uncover
the identity of his real father. When it becomes evident that just about
any male in South Park with a pulse "could be" Cartman's dad (including
the 1991 Denver Broncos), the boys help raise $3,000.00 for a genetic
test that will prove who the real Mr. Cartman is in this special cliffhanger
episode. |

| Trivia |
- When Grandpa Marsh is flipping through channels, you can hear the Sally Struthers "Save the Children" commercial in the background. This
is the same commercial from "Starvin' Marvin."
- Cartman's mom is named Liane after Trey Parker's former fiancée.
He caught her with another man once, and he now names every slutty
character after her.
- Cartman's address (28201) is the same as Wendy's from Tom's Rhinoplasty.
- When Mr. Garrison makes the comment "Who in here HASN'T slept with
Mrs. Cartman?" even Jesus and the priest don't raise their hands.
- In a segment called Great Destinations that appeared during a spring 2002 rerun cycle of the series, Matt & Trey stood in front of a waterfall and introduced this episode (and the part 2 follow-up) as being named by Comedy Central as the most "notorious" episode (downloadable above).
- Cartman's afro is based on Kid from Kid 'n Play, the clock is borrowed from Flavor Flav.
- In the background of Mr. Mackey's office it says "Father and Son Day Coming Soon, Dads are Dandy and If You Don't Have a Dad, You're a Bastard".
- Stan mentions that Bob Saget is almost as bad as the guy on Full House. Bob Saget is, in fact, an actor in Full House.
- Weeks after the episode's premiere, Bob Saget was interviewed on The Daily Show with Craig Kilborn. Although he felt offended when he first heard saw the episode, he later indicated that he got the joke.
- The music playing during Cartman's tea-party scenes is based on Pachelbel's Canon in D
- When Cartman enters Chef's house, he is wearing white shoes, but by the time he enters the house, they are black.
- The Denver Broncos appearing in the episode are mentioned twice. However, on each occasion a different team is referred to; once from 1989, and once from 1991. They are also referred to as AFC Champions, which they were in 1989.
