This is completely unnecessary! Everyone knows that only poor people get lice. The only person that could spread it here would be Kenny. Close Quote Cartman quote

Trivia

  • This is the fourth episode explicitly labeled as a Halloween special, the others being "Pink Eye", "Spookyfish" and "Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery," and is the first one since Season 3. However, this is the first Halloween episode to not feature a Halloween themed title sequence.
  • This is the 150th episode of South Park.
  • When Satan Shows the poster for the party a logo resembling the WWE logo is on the poster.
  • Satan retains the redesigned look introduced in Best Friends Forever.
  • Attendees at Satan's party:
    • Sexual Harassment Panda and the guy in the Dr. Doom costume from "Krazy Kripples"
    • A white guy that is dressed as Chef
    • Mahatma Gandhi (dressed as a musketeer)
    • George Burns (as Lance Armstrong)
    • Adolf Hitler (as the actor in a Verizon wireless ad campaign)
    • Princess Diana (as Lara Croft)
    • Robert Smith of The Cure
  • Steve Irwin is present in Hell at the beginning of the episode, with the stingray still lodged in his chest.
  • Unlike in other episodes, the dead celebrities in Hell are made with normal South Park animation, rather than cutout photos of the people's heads on South Park-style bodies.
  • Throughout the episode, the Catholic priests are shown with three completely naked pre-pubescent boys on leashes. This is a reference to the Roman Catholic sex abuse cases in which priests were found to be molesting and having sex with young boys. The same reference was also spoofed in another episode, Red Hot Catholic Love
  • This is one of the few episodes (along with Season 7's "Krazy Kripples") that feature the use of the word "nigga".
  • Kenny does not feature in this episode.
  • The associations between Gacy, Dahmer, and Bundy is a reference to the Three Stooges.
  • The entire Halloween party is a parody of the MTV show My Super Sweet 16.
  • When the 'Three Murderers' go to the bakery to collect the Ferrari cake the song "Oh Yeah" by Yello is played in the background. This song was also prominent in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, in which a Ferrari also features heavily.
  • The manner in which Satan says: "Hitler, get out of the way, you're ruining my entrance, GAWL!" is reminiscent of Napoleon Dynamite, from the film of the same name.
  • When Satan is planning his party, whenever he wants something for his party, it is revealed that Diddy (Sean Combs) did it. This is a reference to a specific episode of My Super Sweet 16 in which a girl threw a tantrum upon discovering Kanye West, performing at her party, had already done so previously for another sweet 16 party.
