| Trivia |
- This episode is an allusion to the movie 300, whereby 30 lesbians battle the Persians, just as the Spartans did in the film. Further similarities to the film include:
- Use of a narrative voice in describing the current action sequence.
- Sepia-toned cloudy skies hovering over the Les Bos Bar.
- Many scenes alternate between slow-motion and sped-up action, and are often accompanied by heavy rock music.
- Xerxes is depicted in this episode. Just as in 300, the character is similarly androgynous, tall and excessively bejeweled.
- Plot-wise, the episode also directly parodies various scenes, such as the first parley in which Garrison declares "...this isn't crazy. This is Les Bos!" before kicking the Persian messenger in the groin.
- The film was criticised for stereotyping Iranians as being barbarous. To satirise this, the episode further stereotypes Iranians for wearing gold chains, hair gel, silk shirts, "tons of cologne" and their preference for designer clothing.
- The initial sex scene with Mrs. Garrison is based upon a similar sequence in the pilot episode of The L Word.
- Aside from the title of the episode being derived from the term dyke (meaning lesbian), the club name Les Bos is another play-on-words of a slang term for lesbians (and is also the name of a Greek island). Moreover, the street number for the club is 13280, which is leet (Internet/gamer-speak) for "lezbo".
- In this episode, Mrs. Garrison gives her name as "Janet." This is the first time her first name has been used since the sex-change operation; it had previously been unclear whether Garrison's first name was still "Herbert".
