| Trivia |
- This episode aired just 23 hours after it was announced that Barack Obama was the winner of the 2008 United States Presidential election. In fact, the episode's opening speech wasn't completed until the morning the episode aired.
- However, according to Trey Parker, this was the only version of the episode produced, as a McCain version proved "too daunting a task." The episode was completed the morning of the day it aired, with Comedy Central seeing only excerpts of the show beforehand.
- The diamond heist lampoons the 2001 film Ocean's Eleven.
- The piano piece played towards the end is Clair De Lune and is also a reference to the movie Ocean's Eleven where it was also used at a similar point in the film.
- When we see some McCain supporters rioting for a place in a bunker built by Butter's dad, is a reference of the classic Twilight Zone episode "The Shelter".
- When the McCain supporters are reacting to his loss, Mr. Mackey quotes Bill Paxton's classic line from the 1986 film, Aliens. "That's it man, game over man, game over!"
