| Trivia |
- "The Ring" first aired on March 11, 2009 in the United States on Comedy Central, and was be aired two days later on satellite Paramount Comedy in the United Kingdom, the first time such an arrangement has taken place for South Park.
- This is the first South Park episode to be originally broadcast in High Definition.
- At the beginning of the episode, Kyle tells Butters that Tammy is Kenny's first real girlfriend ever. However, Kenny was in a relationship in two previous occasions, first with a girl named Kelly in "Rainforest Schmainforest", and second with an unnamed character (possibly Kelly from the previous episode) who caused him to hold in his farts in "Spontaneous Combustion" thus making Tammy his second (or possibly third) real girlfriend.
- "The Ring" marks the first time Kenny has died since "The List", the season 11 finale.
- "The Ring" is not just a parody of the Jonas Brothers, but also of the ethos of the Walt Disney Company. The episode portrays Disney as a corporation using the ruse of family-friendly morals to disguise their primary motive, which is profit.
- The last lines of this episode are a word-for-word quotation of the famous G.I. Joe slogan.
- "The Jonas Brothers 3-D concert spectacular!" and its failure - references to the Jonas Brothers 3-D concert movie that came out in 2009 and bombed at the box office.
