religious leaders about a solution. After intensive counseling about
the issue, the boys try to understand why anyone would want to put something

- As Father Maxi goes to fetch the "holy document," he goes
from screen to screen, jumping on alligators and swinging over holes
just like Pitfall Harry in Activision's game "Pitfall" for
the Atari 2600 game platform.
- The "Catholic Boat" sequence is a parody of the opening credits
to the television series "The Love Boat."
- The symbolism of a giant spider as a representation of God is evocative
of the Ingmar Bergman film, Through a Glass Darkly.
- Gelgamek Catholics - perhaps an obscure take on the Church's defining
characteristic of universality, i.e. the Church is everywhere; heaven,
Earth and all over the universe. As such it should be possible for
there to be Catholic aliens.
