Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman join some anti-war
protesters because it’s a free pass out of school for the day.
Their simple plan to protest their way out of class goes south when they
find themselves in the middle of the two opposing sides of the war issue.
Their teacher, Mr. Garrison, an extreme supporter of the war, retaliates
by assigning them book reports on the country's founding fathers. Meanwhile,
Cartman induces his own flashback to avoid studying and travels back
to 1776 where he plays an important role in the historic signing of the
Declaration of Independence. |

| Trivia |
- In the rock band the guitarist resembles Slash from the bands Guns
N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, and the drummer resembles Mick Fleetwood
of Fleetwood Mac.
- The Donnie and Marie Show was a prime-time variety show that aired
in the 1970s. They sang a variety of songs, and one of them titled "A
Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock & Roll."
- The music genres
were chosen because a lot of rock musicians are anti-war, and most
country musicians are pro-war. The accompanying stereotypes shown
are that country fans are poor, simple, and uneducated, while rock
fans
are rich, sophisticated, and educated.
- As Cartman is about to kill the messeger he hums the Dawson's Creek
theme song "I Don't Wanna Wait" much in the same fashion
as in the episode "Trapper Keeper".
- The song the boys sing about getting out of school is the same song
they sing in the Pilot "Cartman gets an Anal Probe".
- This is the 100th episode aired, but according to the production
codes, this was the 97th episode produced.
