Trivia

  • The title of this episode is in reference to the hit TV show The Jeffersons, which ran from 1975 to 1985.
  • Cartman talks about the town not needing Austrians. This episode was shown after "The Passion of The Jew," where we learn that Cartman is a Nazi. This quote is referring to the 1965 classic film "The Sound of Music," when a naval captain refuses to join Hitler's navy. The Captain was Austrian, and that is what Cartman is referring to. Alternatively, this may be a jibe at Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian-born governor of California in 2004.
  • "The Power Of Change" is sung to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Heal The World", which is on his fourth solo album, "Dangerous". "Have You Seen My Wishing Tree"? is sung to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Childhood", which is on his fifth solo album, "History".
  • This is the first time since South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut that we hear Kenny's voice unmuffled.
  • The name "Michael Jackson" is never mentioned in the episode aside from the time Blanket almost lets it slip.
  • Kenny dies (for the first time this season) when "Mr. Jefferson" throws him through the ceiling. This is also only the second time he's died since he returned in Episode 617 - "Red Sleigh Down.".
  • Michael "Jefferson's" train ride and all the stuff in his backyard is parody of Michael Jackson's "Neverland Ranch."
  • Mr. Jefferson: "Let's climb a tree" - The tree-climbing spoof is a reference to an embarrassing TV interview with Michael Jackson where he says his favorite things to do for fun is climb trees and have water balloon fights.
  • "Be cool, dude. I, I think maybe he's a burn victim or something." - A possible reference to an occasion when Jackson's hair caught fire during a Pepsi commercial shoot.
