Episode 910 - Follow That Egg
Mrs. Garrison's "ex" plans to marry his new love as soon as the Governor signs the bill allowing gay marriage in Colorado. As Slave and Big Gay Al prepare to marry, the townspeople of South Park rally the Governor to outlaw gay marriage. In a fit of jealously, Mrs. Garrison develops his own case study using the kids to prove that same sex couples cannot care for a child. The boys are determined to get an "A" on their class assignment and Mrs. Garrison is just as committed to seeing they fail.

Trivia

  • Butters doesn't appear at all in this episode, and his name isn't even on the parent chart, suggesting that he may still be considered dead and locked up in his basement from the end of Marjorine. Butters eventually made a return in the following episode, Ginger Kids.
  • The episode title is a spoof of "Follow that car", a line commonly preceding chase scenes in many movies. There is even a scene in this episode where the kids are in a taxicab that's driving very erratically similar to movie chase scenes.
  • Big Gay Al returns for the first time since Cripple Fight.
  • Sally Turner is called Powder in this episode.
  • There's Jewish graffiti on the Akbar's façade.
  • The song heard when Stan turns on the television is the theme song from One Day At A Time.
  • The scene in which Kyle reveals he had hidden the real egg and replaces the one "killed" by the assassin references Star Trek. When Stan approaches Kyle, and says: "As a matter of fact, I think it is the nicest hat I have ever known", Stan uses the exact same intonation and style of Captain Picard in Star Trek: First Contact. In the parallel Star Trek scene, Picard apologizes to Mr. Worf after calling him a coward by saying: "As a matter of fact, you are the bravest man I have ever known".
  • The song Mrs. Garrison sings on love, near the beginning of the show, sounds very similar to Love Changes Everything, the theme song from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Aspects of Love.
  • When Stan is sitting at the coffee table and then at the kitchen table, Stan's arms are drawn similarly to those of Linus and Charlie Brown from Peanuts - He has large forearms, with fingers splayed. At the kitchen table, one arm is resting on the table and his other hand on the side of his face, a pose often assumed by Peanuts characters.
  • Craig is originally paired with Millie as her egg partner, then Mrs. Garrison pairs Craig with Red and Clyde is paired with Millie.
